Leadership Our Executive Team brings together decades of leadership and expertise in global business, leading technologies, design innovation, and superior instrument manufacturing to ensure the success of our customers. David Klein Founder Dave Klein founded Gener8 in 2002. Dave is involved at all stages of Gener8’s customer engagement and pulls from his deep experience in electromechanical development and vast medical, biotech, and industrial market knowledge. With this background, he advises clients on solid technology strategies while also assuring that their needs are met throughout development, manufacturing, and beyond. Before launching Gener8, he held leadership roles at HDI Instrumentation, and Gemfire Corporation. Dave earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley. Dave’s life philosophy to always consider himself a craftsman never a master craftsman as “it is an ideal that cannot be reached” rings through in his personal life as well as business life. He has progressed through his aviation hobby going “from model planes as a kid, to hang gliders since I was in grad school, to small airplanes (and hang gliders today).“ We’re all very curious to learn what comes after small planes. Dan Chandler COO, Engineering Services Dan Chandler began his career as a research scientist designing novel polymers and electronic materials. This work lead to the creation and patenting of circuit protection devices used in virtually every lithium ion cell in the world and culminated in projects that have generated over a billion dollars in revenue. Before coming to Gener8, Dan held senior executive roles at Fairchild Semiconductor, Tyco Electronics, and TE Connectivity where he variously managed international new product development teams for electronic interconnect, high performance wire and cable, connectors, sealing and thermal interface technologies. He has also taken a turn at running marketing, quality, operational excellence organizations. At Gener8, he is back to his “old tricks” of building and maintaining a first-rate engineering community. Dan earned his Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and has a B.S. in Polymer Engineering. He has two, very artistic daughters. He is a native-born Californian but spent much of his youth in a small town on the Gulf Coast. In his spare time, he rides and repairs motorcycles. David Stelter Vice President, Sales and Marketing David has more than 20 years of experience in consultative engineering services and developing advanced Omics and Medical Diagnostic Instrumentation, and consumer products. He has supported start-up firms to Fortune 100 companies by providing technology innovation, product development and commercialization expertise. Prior to joining Gener8, David was Vice President, Business Development with technology commercialization and design firms where he was responsible for teams providing product development, contract manufacturing and technology solutions. David earned a Master’s in Business Administration from CLU, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the SCSU, Minnesota. Malcolm earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Sussex and has done research in laser labs at Universities in Japan and Germany. When not honing his negotiation skills against his three children, he enjoys amateur viticulture and wine making - and through a lifetime of travel speaks a number of languages surprisingly badly. Alfred Macha Vice President of Operations Alfred Macha directs Gener8’s contract manufacturing, design transfer, and new product introduction services. Among his accomplishments is transforming a prototype EMV chip card into 10 fully automated high-volume production lines that increased annual revenue from $5 million to $150 million within a twelve-month period. He has held executive leadership positions at HEI Medical Device Manufacturing, Anaren (now TTM Technologies), and Sanmina Corporation. Alfred has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Arizona State University. He believes learning is a lifelong journey and derives inspiration from studying how the world’s greatest leaders have achieved success through perseverance. In his spare time, Alfred writes articles on operational excellence in contract manufacturing. He does this for several magazines including being a regular contributor to SMT-007 online. He additionally loves watching his kids play competitive soccer and taking the family to the beach for vacations. His favorite travel destinations have been Playa Del Carmen, Maui, St Thomas, and Puerto Vallarta.
