| 128 Channel High Voltage Driver |

| Client: Iris AO | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The high
voltage driver that was designed by Gener8 for Iris AO offers 128 independent
digitally controlled outputs each with a 210 V range, 16 bit precision,
and an update rate of 2 kHz. The voltage range of the board can be digitally
controlled to maximize precision and to avoid accidental overdrive of
the components being driven.
The board uses a combination of high channel count DACs, amplifiers, and control systems to dramatically reduce the cost and size of the driver compared to previously existing solutions. It is controlled by a standard SPI interface and only requires two power connections (+12 and -5 V). All other signals, including the high voltage, are generated on-board. Gener8 designed the Smart Driver system for Iris AO to provide an effective solution for the demonstration of a high channel count MEMs adaptive optics system. This designed driver provides up to 4480 channels of 16 bits at 210V with an update rate of 2kHz. By outsourcing the design, electronics, and software of the Smart Driver to Gener8, Iris AO was able to focus on their core business of making high quality MEMs mirrors.
